LIGHTS Ministry
Ladies, Intentionally, Going, Helping, Touching, Serving ( LIGHTS ) is New Beginning’s ladies group. We meet the first Saturday every month in the fellowship hall from 9:30-11:15, October through May. During this time we fellowship, pray, and study God’s Word. We also serve our church and community through sending cards with words of encouragement and providing meals to those in need.
This fall we will be reading Francine Rivers, Sons of Encouragement. She is a contemporary Christian writer who is skilled in her writing and teaching. The first story will teach us about Aaron, the priest who stood in Moses shadow but had the courage to cover his brother’s fears. There will be discussion about this biblical character and the lessons we can learn from his life. There are additional opportunities to serve God with participation in this group. We participate in the Navajo Shoe box ministry, fund Missionaries to Papa New Guinea, and have a prayer shawl ministry. LIGHTS is also involved in preparing and serving meals for NBC Manna Ministry, a weekly community meal held at our church from October through April.
